You can only ride the type of vehicle your licence shows, and you must follow its conditions. A car class is enough for our 50cc scooters. Our 110cc and 125cc bikes need a motorcycle class.

Who can apply
Your overseas licence uses the same application as an Australian one.
- You are 18 or older.
- Your overseas licence is valid. A car class lets you apply for our 50cc scooters. A motorcycle class lets you apply for our 110cc and 125cc bikes.
- You can ride in Queensland on it. See the rules below.
- You are an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or on a visa that lets you work.
- Your income shows in your bank statements.

Riding in Queensland on an overseas licence

Licence not in English?
Carry a recognised English translation when you ride. Show it to police with your licence. You do not need to upload a translation to apply.
Living in Queensland for good?
Australian citizens, and people with a permanent or special category visa, must change to a Queensland licence after living in Queensland for 3 months. This rule is not for temporary visas.

Do I need to upload a translation?
No. Upload the front and back of your licence and a photo of your passport photo page.
Can I ride for delivery on an overseas licence?
Check each app first. For example, Uber Eats does not take overseas licences for motorbike delivery. Riding for delivery is business use and needs an ABN.
